Langley man in critical condition after being shot in parking garage

A man is in hospital after being shot in an underground parking garage in Langley early Monday.

Langley RCMP said they were called just before 1 a.m. about a possible shooting.

Officers who went to the underground parkade in the 5600-block of 201A Street found a 27-year-old man suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital in critical condition.

The victim, a Langley resident, is known to police but offered “very little information” with investigators before undergoing surgery, though police believe the shooting is targeted.

“It is too early to definitively say this incident is linked to the Lower Mainland gang conflict,” said Cpl. Holly Largy in a police statement issued Monday morning.

Langley RCMP’s serious crimes unit is now handling the investigation. Anyone with information about the shooting or the victim is asked to contact investigators at 604-532-3200.
