Charges laid in stranger attack against senior in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside

ancouver police have arrested a 27-year-old woman and allege she assaulted a senior in the Downtown Eastside last month.

Police say a 71-year-old woman was walking near International Village at Abbott and Penner Streets  on Oct. 23 when she was confronted by a stranger yelling and screaming at her. The senior was then attacked, ending up in hospital with a broken arm.

Vancouver Police Department spokesman Sgt. Steve Addison said Danica Crystal Corke has been charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm.
