Two men targeted in a Langley shooting not cooperating with police, say RCMP

Langley RCMP say two men targeted in a shooting Sunday night in a residential neighbourhood are not cooperating with investigators.

Police went to 7000 block of 196A Avenue around 7:30 p.m. after callers to 911 reported gunshots in the area. Witnesses say the shooting happened in a cul-de-sac.

Police say the two men, aged 25 and 26, were sitting in a parked Dodge Durango when the occupant of a white SUV opened fire on them.

Neither man was injured and neither is talking, said police.

“Both men in the Durango are known to police and are not cooperating with the investigation,” Langley RCMP said in a release.

The white SUV drove off after the shooting. Police there was a vehicle fire in the 7300 block of 182nd Street about 10 minutes later.

Both vehicles have been seized.

Meanwhile, the RCMP is also investigating reports of multiple shots fired in a residential area of Richmond early Monday morning.

Witnesses told police that the occupants of two separate vehicles exchanged gunfire in the 22300 block of Chaldecott Drive around 12:30 a.m.

Both vehicles were seen speeding away from the scene before police arrived.

There were no reports of injuries.
