If you’ve been looking for a job to bankroll your summer adventures, Parks Canada is hiring across the country and you could earn as much as $30 an hour.

With 38 national parks from coast to coast, Parks Canada is seeking energetic and enthusiastic students and temporary workers to help support its summer 2024 operations.

Candidates will have the opportunity to work in some of Canada’s most stunning parks and culturally significant sites, all while making a difference in preserving the country’s environment and heritage.

Roles with Parks Canada for this summer include engineering, computing and data management, environment conservation, finance and accounting, fire team crew, gate attendees, cashier services, heritage presents, lifeguarding, multimedia creation, security and law enforcement and skilled trades, to name a few.

As part of the job, you’ll benefit from paid vacation and leave, pension and retirement benefits, health and dental benefits, transfer and promotion opportunities, and of course, the chance to work in beautiful locations.

While no degree is needed, there are certain language requirements for some positions. Applicants must also be able and willing to undergo a reliability status security clearance check.

Compensation and work hours differ depending on the role. However, student positions are remunerated according to years of study, so you can earn anywhere from $16.84 and $24 per hour. According to Parks Canada, some entry-level seasonal roles also pay up to $30 an hour.

When applying, you will need to upload your CV and provide a general overview of who you are. You can then choose up to 10 preferred work locations and up to 10 preferred job types.

The deadline to apply for the summer season is April 30, 2024.
